Imagine a world with magic doors that allows you to enter other dimensions. Gateway offers doors you can easily install in your home just like every other ordinary door. The difference between them is the space hidden behind them.

Gateway
The Goal
The subject of this project was designing an imaginary product that might exist in the future. As the world’s population keeps growing, living space is a resource of high value. I designed Gateway as a solution for this exact problem. The basic mechanism of these doors can be compared to Mary Poppins bag.
The Idea
I named the product after a piece of networking hardware used to connect systems to allow data to flow from one network to another. Transferring this to the product, ‘Gateway’ allows the user to move between his own space and the added space.
The user can customize the door to match the rest of the existing interior. He then can configure the space exactly for his needs by choosing a layout or simply the size of the room.
Colors & Material
In order to incorporate the technical aspects of the app into the design, I decided to keep the color scheme in green and blue tones as those colors are often associated with steadfastness and security. To complement the scheme I added a bright pink as an accent color to direct the eye as needed.

Logo
One of the app’s main components is the transition between spaces, which I decided to implement into the logo as well. Since I named the product after a piece of networking hardware, I also implemented this into the logo. I combined the letter G with a pattern that is reminiscent of the structure of electronic components.
